WANA (July 27) – Hassan Salarieh, the head of Iran’s Space Organization, stated that this year there will undoubtedly be a satellite launch from the Chabahar Space Base, with the primary candidates being private sector satellites.

Regarding the satellite launch from the Chabahar Space Base, Salarieh said, “The first phase of the Chabahar Space Base will definitely be operational this year, and we predict that the first satellite launch from this base will be from the private sector.”

He noted the satellites being prepared for launch from the Chabahar base, saying, “Currently, we have the Research family satellites from the private sector, with plans for one of these satellites to be completed and ready for launch by the end of this year.”

Salarieh continued, “Additionally, the experimental model of the Shahid Soleimani constellation series satellite is also under construction, both of which are private sector projects.”

He emphasized that the construction of these satellites must be completed, followed by compatibility testing. The launch will occur only if all tests and evaluations are successful.

Salarieh also mentioned, “We aim to have launches from the Chabahar base at various orbital inclinations. Naturally, we are interested in placing satellites in inclinations that are not feasible from domestic bases, and we seek to test this advantage. However, our priority is the Sun-synchronous orbit.”
